Ryan Brehm fired an eagle at the par-5 3rd at Kingsbarns Golf Links as well as seven birdies for a bogey-free 63 and a share of the lead at 9-under at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
“There’s really nothing not to be pleased about,” said the American.
“It’s just an amazing place. This is my first time over here, and I was pretty much in awe on every fairway, and I hit a lot of fairways, which is kind of rare for me. It was a lot of fun.”
The Netherlands’ Darius van Driel also playing at Kingsbarns signed for a bogey-free 63 while England’s Matthew Jordan’s 63 at the Old Course featured back-to-back eagles at the par-4 5th and 6th, six birdies and one bogey.
“It was brilliant,” said Jordan. “Any time you get to play this place, especially with no wind, it’s just so enjoyable.
“And, yeah, it just took off. It was a couple of holes just steady away and then all of a sudden fireworks.
“I think that’s probably the first time I’ve gone eagle-eagle in a tournament, so that certainly helps, and then all of a sudden just trying to keep carrying it on.”

Denmark’s Jacob Skov Olesen eagled the par-5 14th at Carnoustie for a 64 and a share of fourth place at 8-under.
Tied alongside Olesen are American Dustin Johnson who fired a bogey-free round featuring an eagle at the par-5 at Carnoustie and Denmark’s Jeff Winther, also bogey-free at Kingsbarns who made an eagle at the par-5 3rd.
