Expected to be one of the early highlights of the 2026 golf calendar, the luxury 27-hole venue near Lagos will host the 45th edition of the tournament from 28th to 31st January 2026.

With its three acclaimed nine-hole loops, the Alvor, Lagos and Praia, it is the perfect setting to host one of the most important amateur events in Portugal. The 27-hole course, with its breathtaking views across the Bay of Lagos, is celebrated for the diversity of its challenges posing an interesting test for those competing.
Featuring a variety of playing formats, the Almond Blossom Tournament is open to men and women affiliated with the golfing union federation of their countries and brings together golfers in a vibrant atmosphere where the competition is set amongst the natural beauty of the almond blossom bloom season (giving the tournament its name) as Spring in the Algarve begins to awaken.

Palmares is offering a range of attractive options for competitors entering next year’s event. Golf-only packages – featuring three rounds of golf, access to social events, and a prize-giving dinner – start from €310 per person, while players can book a three-night stay-and-play break including all golf, social events, and resort accommodation from €685 per person (based on two people sharing a room).

The tournament will take place shortly after Palmares hosts the prestigious Olazábal & Friends Charity Pro-Am for the first time in its history.

Hosted by two-time Masters champion, José María Olazábal and featuring Spanish golfing legend Miguel Ángel Jiménez, the event this November (21-23) offers amateurs the exclusive opportunity to join the former European Ryder Cup captain and his friends for a unique, up-close experience at one of Portugal’s top golf resorts.
“This is a very special year for Palmares as we celebrate 50 years of golf, and having legends like José María Olazábal and Miguel Ángel Jiménez here makes it even more memorable. Seeing Palmares continue to attract players of this stature is the best proof of the quality of the resort and the experience it offers.
Everyone at Palmares is very proud of its heritage and the role the resort has played in promoting golf in the Algarve. Keeping the tradition of the Almond Blossom alive – a tournament with nearly as many years of history as Palmares itself – is our way of honouring the past while welcoming a new generation of golfers to discover what makes Palmares so special.”
