Jenny Shin Ends 10-Year Wait With Two-Shot Women’s Scottish Open Win

The Korean held on through a difficult final round at Dundonald Links to claim her second LPGA Tour title and first LET victory.

Jenny Shin ended a 10-year wait for her second LPGA Tour title on Sunday, completing a wire-to-wire victory at the 2026 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open.

The 33-year-old closed with a 3-over 75 at Dundonald Links to finish 9-under, two shots ahead of fellow Korean A Lim Kim. The victory was also Shin’s first title on the Ladies European Tour.

Shin’s previous win came at the 2016 Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America. She had previously shot rounds of 66, 67 and 71, which gave her a five-shot advantage entering the final day.

“My first win didn’t really feel like a win at the time. I didn’t feel like I deserved it, but this one definitely feels a lot different,” Shin said. “This one feels like I earned it. I worked hard for it.”

Shin Recovers From Three Straight Bogeys

Shin opened her final round with five pars before three consecutive bogeys threatened to erase her overnight advantage. A seven-foot par putt at the ninth steadied her, and birdies at the 10th and 12th extended her lead.

“Today, I was just trying to stay in it. Don’t sink the ship. Don’t mess up,” Shin said. “I was really happy that I sunk that seven-footer and to come back with a birdie on number 10, I felt pretty comfortable and like I was ready to take on anything.”

Bogeys at the 16th and 18th reduced her winning margin, but Shin had built enough of a cushion to win alongside caddie Shane Codd. She credited Codd with helping her remain composed when her lead came under pressure.

“He just said be with me, just stay here with me and look at me,” Shin said. “Look at the ball and just commit to what you were doing all week. I did that and that’s how I hung in there.”

A Lim Kim Finishes Two Shots Back

A Lim Kim produced one of the best rounds of the day, making five birdies and one bogey in a four-under 68. She finished alone in second on 7-under and viewed the windy week as useful preparation for the AIG Women’s Open.

Thailand’s Pajaree Anannarukarn took third at 5-under, with Germany’s Esther Henseleit one shot behind in fourth. 2024 champion Lauren Coughlin shared fifth with Japan’s Miyu Yamashita, while Chanettee Wannasaen finished seventh on 2-under after a closing 69.

Wannasaen also secured one of the three available places in the AIG Women’s Open. Daniela Darquea and Nataliya Guseva claimed the remaining two spots.

Ireland’s Leona Maguire shared eighth with Ryann O’Toole on 1-under alongside Japan’s Erika Hara.

The LET now moves to Royal Lytham & St Annes for the AIG Women’s Open, the final major championship of the season, from July 30 to August 2.
