The Dalaman Golf Club will officially open on August 30, giving the Turkish resort region its first 18-hole championship course and a new route into the international golf travel market.
Managed by Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, the club has been developed as a year-round attraction at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Its backers expect golf to extend Dalaman’s visitor season beyond the summer months while supporting further investment in local tourism.
The club sits 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport, pairing direct international access with an established five-star resort. Mustafa Göçen, chairman of Göçay-Onur Tourism Management Inc., believes the region can follow the path established by Belek, Türkiye’s best-known golf destination.

A 6,728-yard championship course
International Design Group designed the par-72 course, which measures 6,152 metres, or 6,728 yards, from the back tees. Built on natural sandy soil, the routing has 55 bunkers, considerable elevation movement and 15 natural water hazards.
The course passes through pine forest and wetland areas, with the Mediterranean coastline providing uninterrupted views. Sustainable construction practices were used to integrate the layout into one of Türkiye’s most biologically diverse areas.
The wider golf operation will include an academy and extensive practice facilities. A premium clubhouse will provide dining and contemporary social areas intended for established players and those new to golf.
Club director Mitat Batır said the long-term plan includes partnerships with golf clubs and tour operators, as well as bids to stage international tournaments. The academy will also support junior development.
Hilton resort supports longer golf stays
Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf occupies 74 acres of landscaped grounds and has 550 rooms, suites and Lake House suites. Accommodation options include private plunge pools and saunas, while the Lake Houses have private piers and direct water access.
The ultra-all-inclusive resort serves Turkish, Italian, Asian, Indian and Mediterranean food across its buffet and à la carte venues. Away from the course, facilities include ten pools, two seasonal waterparks, a 650-metre private sandy beach and the Elysion Spa, which has 18 treatment rooms.
Its congress centre, opened 15 years ago to help develop business outside the main holiday season, can accommodate up to 1,000 people. Board member Aslı Çetinceviz said the golf club represents the next stage of that strategy.

“Fifteen years ago, we opened the region’s first congress centre, helping establish Dalaman as a year-round destination. Today, The Dalaman Golf Club represents another major milestone that will encourage further investment in golf, hospitality and tourism infrastructure throughout the region.”
Dalaman aims to reduce tourism seasonality
Hilton Dalaman opened in 2009, but golf will give the property a new reason to attract overseas visitors during months traditionally outside Türkiye’s peak coastal season. The combination of airport access, on-site accommodation and warm-weather play is central to that plan.
