KBS has added the Tour V-X to its V-X family, a steel iron shaft designed to enhance stability through impact while preserving the feel associated with the brand.
The new model, announced on 8 September 2026, joins the lighter Tour V-X Lite. It targets golfers who want more predictable launch, ball flight and dispersion throughout their iron set.
A stronger profile through impact
The Tour V-X places a firm section under the hands, followed by a more responsive middle. Stability then increases towards the tip to help limit unwanted movement as the club approaches impact.
According to KBS, the combination helps limit shaft movement during the swing and allows golfers to present the clubhead more consistently. The profile is intended to provide a repeatable launch and reliable trajectory without sacrificing responsiveness.
The Tour V-X’s weight-to-strength ratio exceeds that of every previous KBS iron shaft design by nearly 20%. This added strength is intended to limit distortion during the swing, particularly when the shaft experiences its greatest load around impact.
Kim Braly, KBS Director of R&D and Master Shaft Maker, said the design was developed to combine control with the company’s established feel.
“Golfers should not have to choose between stability and feel,” Braly said. “With the TOUR V-X, we have engineered a shaft that feels unmistakably KBS but offers an exceptional level of control through impact. It is a next-generation design created for players who want to swing with confidence and see more predictable results.”
Six weights broaden fitting options
The Tour V-X is available in six weights, beginning at 105g and rising in 5g increments through 130g. Every weight can be ordered in R, R+, S, S+, X or TX flex.
That fitting matrix allows shaft weight and flex to be considered separately. A golfer requiring a firmer flex, for example, does not automatically have to move into the heaviest version. Fitters can instead account for swing speed, transition and delivery pattern when selecting the specification.
Finished in chrome, the shaft has a .600-inch butt diameter and comes with either a .355-inch or .370-inch tip. Its lengths are listed from 37 to 42 inches, spanning builds from 3-iron down into the wedges, including pitching and sand wedge applications.
The Tour V-X gives KBS a heavier steel option within the V-X range, complementing the Tour V-X Lite for golfers whose fitting requirements favour a lower shaft weight.
