- Six more players have secured PGA Tour membership for 2027 through the Korn Ferry Tour.
- Thirteen players are assured of cards, leaving seven available at the season finale.
- The Korn Ferry Tour Championship runs from 8-11 October at The Federal Club in Virginia.
Tommy Morrison, Hunter Eichhorn, Dylan Menante, Cooper Dossey, Michael Johnson and Jeremy Gandon are mathematically assured of finishing in the Korn Ferry Tour’s top 20 and earning 2027 PGA Tour membership, the PGA Tour announced on Wednesday.
The Korn Ferry Tour Championship begins today at The Federal Club in Glen Allen, Virginia, concluding on Sunday. The 25th and final event of the season will settle the remaining seven cards through the final season-long points standings. Twelve of the 13 players already assured of promotion will receive their first PGA Tour card.
Johnson’s long wait ends
Michael Johnson’s breakthrough comes a decade after he turned professional out of Auburn University in 2016. He has played eight of the past nine Korn Ferry Tour seasons, compiling 14 top-25 finishes in 24 starts this year, including a share of second at the Astara Chile Classic.
Jeremy Gandon has secured his first card after finishing 22nd last season, two places outside the promotion positions. The Frenchman won April’s LECOM Suncoast Classic, giving him a victory in successive seasons.
Cooper Dossey advances in his third season, having finished 76th in 2024 and 44th in 2025. A tied-second finish in Chile helped his cause, followed by tied-sixth and tied-fourth finishes in the opening two Korn Ferry Tour Finals events.
Morrison’s rapid rise
Tommy Morrison earned Korn Ferry Tour membership by finishing sixth in the 2026 PGA Tour University Ranking after three and a half seasons at Texas. He then recorded top-10 finishes in each of his first five starts, including victory at the Evans Scholars Invitational and two runner-up finishes.
Morrison becomes the third player, following Adrien Dumont de Chassart and Karl Vilips, to earn a PGA Tour card through the Korn Ferry Tour in the same season he received PGA Tour University membership benefits.
Hunter Eichhorn also secured promotion in his first Korn Ferry Tour season. His nine top-10 finishes include a playoff defeat to Doc Redman at the Visit Knoxville Open.
Dylan Menante advances in his second season after finishing 53rd as a rookie. His first title came at the Tulum Championship, where a closing nine-under-par 63 delivered a six-shot victory over Blades Brown.
Golf Channel will televise all four rounds from 3-6pm ET on Thursday and Friday and 1-4pm ET at the weekend. The card ceremony will stream on the Golf Channel app.
GolfToday Verdict: Morrison’s rapid promotion and Johnson’s persistence give the PGA Tour’s 2027 intake an appealing blend of fresh promise and hard-earned experience.
