The Great North Air Ambulance Service Charity Golf Day raised more than £21,000, while the Greggs Foundation raised £23,000. A further £30,000 was raised through the Alan Shearer Foundation Golf Day.

Close House also directly contributed in excess of £30,000 through donations to support charitable fundraising initiatives during the year, further demonstrating the club’s commitment to helping organisations generate valuable funds for their respective causes.

“We are incredibly proud to have helped raise more than £350,000 for charity through events at Close House this year,” said Jonathan Lupton, Managing Director at Close House.

“Hosting 30 charity days throughout the year has been fantastic, and the generosity shown by everyone involved has been incredible. Supporting charities and the wider community is hugely important to us at Close House, so it is particularly rewarding to see the impact these events can have.”

Cancer Research, Newcastle United Foundation, Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter and St Oswald’s Hospice were among the other organisations supported through events at the venue, alongside a wider range of local and national charities.

The Lee Westwood Colt and Filly courses host the club’s charity golf programme, giving organisations a setting to gather supporters and raise funds through the game. Close House plans to continue supporting charities through golf days and fundraising initiatives.
