Dane Thorbjørn Olesen looks poised for his first DP World Tour title since the 2018 Italian Open.

He made two eagles, unfortunately accompanied by two bogeys as well as a birdie at the final hole, and signed for a 69 to take a three-shot lead at 11-under in the Betfred British Masters hosted by Danny Willett.

"It was a very nice way to finish. Great shot on 17 and obviously a great putt on 18. It was obviously a bit of a fight out there. I am just happy I stuck on out there and kept being aggressive the whole way around.
"I know how hard it is to win out here, it never comes easy so that is important [knowledge]. My attitude today was really good. If I can keep staying aggressive and not worrying too much then that is very important. It is always really difficult to win, you have to go out there and get it."

Overnight leader Hurly Long from Germany closed with a 73 and moved down into a share of second place at 8-under alongside England's Marcus Armitage who signed for a 70.
Scot Richie Ramsay is tied in fourth at 7-under alongside Dane Rasmus Højgaard (72), South African Justin Walters (71), Paraguayan Fabrizio Zanotti (69) and American Chase Hanna (66).
