Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay led the way for Team USA, remaining bogey-free and beating Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama 6-and-5 at Quail Hollow. Their record in foursomes at the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup is now 5-0.

“I told the guys last night we need to set the tone — us and J.T. and Jordan’s match — and we did,” said Schauffele. “Playing this format on a day like today and not making any bogeys, it’s exactly what we need.”
The only team to hold off the American landslide was Si Woo Kim and Cameron Davis who took advantage of Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns’ mistakes to go from 2 down to 2 up.
