France’s Antoine Rozner carded a bogey-free 64 to reach 10-under and take a share of the lead at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
“I think it’s one of the first times in my career I’m happy with every single score on every single hole. That doesn’t happen a lot and I don’t think I can score any better on this course. It was tricky, it was tough so I’m really pleased with the way I played.
“You had to aim so far right or so far left in the side winds. I made one mistake on five but after that I didn’t make a lot of mistakes. But putting was solid, short game as well so I’m happy with everything.”
Overnight leader Sami Välimäki followed up his opening 62 with an even-par 72 after firing five birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 9th.
Spain’s Alfredo Garcia-Heredia closed with a 66 after seven birdies and a single bogey at the par-3 8th for his share of the lead.
“It was fun out there today,” said Garcia-Heredia. “I played really solid yesterday and really solid today. I improved my putting. I went to see a putting coach because last year wasn’t very good. I’m really happy with all of that.”
South Africa’s Oliver Bekker lies in solo fourth place at 9-under after a 71 followed by countryman Casey Jarvis (67) in a share of fifth place alongside Denmark‘s Christoffer Bring (69) and France‘s Pierre Pineau (71).
