Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club Wins Third Straight 59club Gold Flag Award

The Ajman-based Nicklaus Design venue adds a Membership Team of the Year honour to its growing collection of 59club Middle East & Africa service awards.

Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club

Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club in Ajman, UAE, has received the 59club Middle East & Africa Gold Flag Award for the third consecutive year and been named 2025 Golf Membership Team of the Year at the organisation’s Service Excellence Awards.

The Gold Flag is an international benchmark presented to golf and resort properties that meet the highest standards of customer service and facilities. The Membership Team of the Year award recognises excellence in membership sales, service delivery, member engagement and commercial performance.

Special recognition was given to Al Zorah’s Membership and Marketing Coordinator Charlyn Alunday, whose work was cited as a key factor in the club’s continued success in membership services.

Award trajectory

The dual honour follows a steady climb through the 59club system. Al Zorah held Silver Flag status in 2022, won its first Gold Flag in 2024 alongside the Golf Retail Team of the Year award, and has now retained that Gold Flag designation for a third year running. The club was also named recipient of the 2025 Golf Inc. Best New Public Clubhouse Award.

Clinton Norris, Director of Sales & Marketing at Troon International, said: “Recognition through 59club is especially meaningful as it is driven by performance, service standards and customer experience. Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club continues to demonstrate leadership within the Middle East golf market, and this award reflects the momentum the club has created through its people, product and membership strategy.”

Membership focus

The club attributed part of its success to ongoing service-focused training across the team, with emphasis on personalised member interactions, tailored membership presentations and proactive follow-up communication. One example of the club’s evolving offering is The 100 Club, an exclusive seven-day membership programme designed to give golfers premium access to Al Zorah’s golf and lifestyle amenities.

General Manager Philip Henderson said: “We are proud to receive this recognition from 59club. These awards are a testament to the passion, professionalism and commitment of our entire team, who consistently strive to deliver an exceptional experience for our members and guests. Special congratulations to Charlyn Alunday for her deserved recognition and contribution to our success.”

The venue

Managed by Troon International, Al Zorah Golf & Yacht Club opened in December 2015 and features a par-72 Nicklaus Design course set among one million square metres of protected mangroves along Ajman’s coastline. The club sits roughly 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport and includes marina access, a luxury clubhouse and a full lifestyle membership offering.

59club, founded in 2008 by Simon Wordsworth, operates as a performance management and service benchmarking group supporting over 1,200 golf, leisure and hospitality venues worldwide. Its 2026 Global Awards Ceremony is scheduled for November 23–25 in Vilamoura, Portugal.
