Aphrodite Hills Resort has opened its PGA National Golf Academy on Cyprus’s southwest coast, adding a 28-bay TrackMan Range and two indoor coaching studios to its golf facilities.
The academy featured in the resort’s 2026 summer programme, announced in July. It offers coaching for new players and experienced golfers alongside practice facilities for resort guests.
TrackMan range and coaching studios
The range is the first in Cyprus equipped with TrackMan ball-tracking technology. Players can see figures for ball speed, launch angle, spin and carry distance after each shot. The resort’s Cabell B. Robinson-designed PGA National Cyprus course has also been mapped for TrackMan, allowing visitors to play it virtually on 15 screens.
The two indoor studios use TrackMan 4 for swing analysis. PLATFORM Golf’s TrueBreak system provides slope-adjusting putting practice, while SAM PuttLab measures putting performance. Outside, golfers have a short-game area and natural grass practice tees. A six-hole academy course offers another place to play, and custom fitting and club repairs are also available.
The academy’s artificial teeline uses SYNLawn UK’s TeeStrike+ surface, a technology also selected for TGL, the golf league founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Aphrodite Hills says it is Europe’s longest continuous artificial teeline.
“Our ambition was to develop an Academy that caters for everyone, from those picking up a golf club for the first time through to elite players seeking detailed performance analysis,” said Miguel Girbes, director of golf & sports at Aphrodite Hills Resort.
Family Traveller dining award
Aphrodite Hills has also won the Family Food and Beverage category at the new Family Traveller Awards, presented at The Swan on London’s South Bank. A panel of family travel journalists selected the finalists before public votes decided the winners.
The resort has 23 places to eat and drink. Families can visit Pithari Tavern for Cypriot dishes or Hans & Gretel for gelato and waffles. Children’s buffet choices and takeaway from selected restaurants give guests further options during their stay. Aphrodite Hills was also shortlisted for the Family Activities and Entertainment Award.
