Basingstoke Golf Club Launches New Website Ahead of 2027 Home Internationals

The redeveloped Hampshire club now handles tee times, membership and 1907 Academy coaching in one place, and its new site will be the information hub for next August’s junior championship.

  • Basingstoke has launched a new website for booking tee times, exploring membership and accessing its 1907 Academy.
  • The launch is the latest step in the club’s £20 million redevelopment at Dummer.
  • Basingstoke hosts the 2027 Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals from August 2 to 5.

Basingstoke Golf Club has launched a new website, giving members and visitors one place to book tee times, look at membership options and sign up for coaching at its redeveloped Hampshire home.

The site is the latest piece of a £20 million transformation that culminated on May 2, when 1991 Masters champion Ian Woosnam, Solheim Cup star Charley Hull and the club’s own Walker Cup player Charlie Forster officially opened the new Basingstoke.

General manager David Green said the club wanted its online presence to match the experience on site.

“Whether you’re a member checking the latest news, a visitor planning a round or someone thinking about taking up the game at the academy, everything is now just a few clicks away,” said Green.

What the site covers

The centrepiece is the 18-hole, par-72 championship downland course by Weller Designs. Set across 162 acres of rolling chalk downland, it has four sets of tees running from 5,540 yards to 6,840 yards, large tilting greens of creeping bentgrass, the first in Hampshire, and two lagoons plus five ponds that bring water into play on holes such as the par-3 5th and the closing par-4 18th.

The 1907 Academy gets its own section on the site. Developed with SYNLawn UK and built using sustainable, natural materials, it is equipped with Trackman technology and offers coaching and practice for juniors, beginners and performance players alike. The facility includes 16 driving bays, 11 of them indoors, a 300-yard range and an outdoor short-game area with bunkers, aprons and semi-rough.

A national stage

Basingstoke will host the 2027 Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals from August 2 to 5, when the leading junior players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales arrive for The R&A’s team championship. Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Lottie Woad have all played in past editions. The club says the website will be the central source of information for players, families and spectators in the build-up.

England Golf has also recognised Basingstoke as an Official Championship Venue, an accreditation covering the course, clubhouse and practice areas that opens the door to further England Golf championships.

From Kempshott Park to Dummer

Basingstoke opened in 1907 as a nine-hole course and later spent nearly a century on a James Braid-designed parkland layout at Kempshott Park. Members voted in 2018 to sell that site, moved to the former Dummer Golf Club in 2021 and played through construction, from mats and temporary greens, while the new course, clubhouse and practice facilities were built.
