Tommy Fleetwood fired a 7-under 65 marred by a single bogey to reach 22-under and win the DP World India Championship by two shots.

The Englishman, who won his first PGA Tour title at the Tour Championship and was also instrumental in winning the Ryder Cup last month, has now won eight times on the DP World Tour.

“These are the times that we’re going to look back on. Whether it happened for me today or not, I knew that it was important for me to go out there and enjoy it, to look forward to it,” said Fleetwood.

“I just happened to play great. It was such an enjoyable round, and Keita [Nakajima], I have to give credit to him. I said to him afterwards that he played amazing. The par he made on the 16th, the putt he holed after me on the 17th, I think he did amazing, and he was a pleasure to play against today.

“Overall it set up perfectly for me, but there’s been so many amazing things no matter what this week.”

Japan’s Nakajima started the day with the lead and fired three birdies to close with a bogey-free 69 and solo second place at 20-under.

Ireland’s Shane Lowry made one bogey and carded a 68 for a share of third place at 18-under alongside England’s Alex Fitzpatrick who made one bogey for his third consecutive 67 and South African Thriston Lawrence who eagled the par-5 14th and made seven birdies and two bogeys for a 65.
