ECCO Golf has introduced the BIOM C5 Premium, an upgraded performance shoe based on the BIOM C5 model released earlier in 2026.
The new version combines ECCO Performance Leather with GORE-TEX SURROUND waterproofing, an aluminium BOA Fit System dial and the company’s BIOM Natural Motion platform. It is aimed at golfers seeking the stability of a technical golf shoe with a cleaner, more formal finish.
Leather Upper and Natural Motion Platform
The BIOM C5 Premium has a seamless-looking leather upper made with ECCO Performance Leather, which is developed in the company’s own tanneries. Sculpted side stabilisers are integrated into the athletic profile to support the foot during the swing.
Underfoot, the BIOM Natural Motion platform is designed to position the foot closer to the ground. ECCO says this construction supports a more natural walking motion while providing a stable base throughout the golf swing.
The shoe also uses ECCO FLUIDFORM Direct Comfort Technology, which creates a flexible sole unit shaped around the natural contours of the foot. The construction is intended to deliver cushioning and support without restricting movement over 18 holes.
Waterproofing and Multi-Directional Traction
GORE-TEX SURROUND technology provides waterproof protection alongside 360-degree breathability. The system is designed to release heat and moisture while preventing water from reaching the foot, making the shoe suitable for wet, dry, sandy and muddy conditions.
ECCO’s E-TTS outsole supplies multi-directional traction across different lies and surfaces. Combined with the low-to-the-ground BIOM construction and side stabilisers, the outsole is intended to keep the golfer planted during the swing while remaining comfortable for walking.
Aluminium BOA Fit System
The BIOM C5 Premium uses an aluminium BOA Fit System dial in place of conventional laces. Golfers can make small adjustments during a round, tightening or releasing the closure as conditions and comfort requirements change.
Timo Vollrath, head of global marketing at ECCO Golf, said the Premium model takes the existing BIOM C5 platform further through its materials and finish.
“It’s built for golfers who want uncompromising performance, but who also appreciate premium aesthetics and exceptional attention to detail.”
ECCO Golf footwear is currently worn by tour professionals including Thorbjørn Olesen, Aaron Rai, Thomas Bjørn, Erik van Rooyen, Lydia Ko, Lin Xiyu and Freddy Schott.
