LIV Golf Andalucía: Hatton Holds Two-Shot Lead as Johnson’s 64 Lights Up Valderrama

Tyrrell Hatton takes a two-shot advantage into Championship Sunday at Real Club Valderrama, while Dustin Johnson’s hole-in-one and round-of-the-week 64 propels 4Aces GC to the top of the team standings.

Tyrrell Hatton carded a third-round 67 to reach 10-under par and carry a two-shot lead into the final round of LIV Golf Andalucía at Real Club Valderrama. The Legion XIII player made birdies at the first, fifth and 17th holes, and ground out difficult par saves on the back nine to stay clear of the field.

There were some good shots today. I feel like there were some poor ones in there, as well, which is disappointing, but I holed some nice putts inside 10 feet, especially for par on the back nine. A lot can happen around here.

Thomas Detry (4Aces GC) matched Hatton’s 67 and sits second at 8-under, two shots off the lead as he chases a first LIV Golf victory.

Garcia, Rahm Give Home Crowd Plenty to Watch

Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm both shot 68 on Saturday and sit at 6-under and 5-under respectively, giving Spanish fans two contenders to follow on Championship Sunday.

Garcia’s round was bogey-free, though he waited until the 10th hole for his first birdie. Key par saves on the sixth and seventh holes kept his card clean before he picked up shots on the back nine.

I felt like I played pretty well, very consistent. It’s going to take something good. Obviously, Tyrrell is playing amazing. There are a lot of great players there that know what they’re doing.

Johnson’s 64 and a Hole-in-One

Dustin Johnson had the round of the day, with a 7-under 64 that included a hole-in-one on the third hole from 186 yards, the 18th ace in LIV Golf history. Johnson went out in 30 and climbed from well outside contention to a tie for fourth at 5-under alongside Rahm, Abraham Ancer (Torque GC) and Cameron Smith (Ripper GC).

Johnson’s performance powered 4Aces GC to the top of the team leaderboard. The squad combined for 11-under in Round 3 and leads at 12-under overall, eight shots clear of Legion XIII. With both Detry and Johnson inside the individual top five, 4Aces are positioned for what would be their fourth team win of the season.

Sunday Groupings

The final group tees off at 1:27 PM local time: Garcia, Detry and Hatton. Ahead of them at 1:16 PM, Smith, Johnson and Rahm make up the penultimate group.
