Englishman Daniel Gavins shot a 65 to win his maiden European Tour title at the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by Modest! Golf Management at Galgorm Castle Golf Club.

World Invitational 2021 R4

Gavins arrived in Ireland with two top-10s on the European Challenge Tour in July but hadn't yet managed the feat on the European Tour.

He started the final day seven shots behind overnight leader Jordan Smith and remained bogey-free to reach 13-under.

World Invitational 2021 R4

"I was a little nervous before but I just tried to shoot as low as I could today. At seven behind I didn't really think I was within a chance of winning so there was maybe a bit less pressure there.

"I've been playing well but I was going to have the week off because I knew there's a lot of Challenge Tour events coming up so I thought a week off here maybe and then play the rest of the Challenge Tour.

"I just can't believe it, it'll take a while to sink in, an amazing day. It's amazing that every week on the European Tour is just a place you want to be. I'm just fortunate to be on it and just playing golf."

World Invitational 2021 R4

David Horsey started his day one shot off the lead at 14-under but only fired three birdies to offset three bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 13th to finish with a 72 at 12-under.

Smith had a similarly bad day with three birdies for two bogeys and two double bogeys at the par-4s 6th and 11th to close with a 74. He tied for third place at 11-under alongside Spain's Alejandro Cañizares (67), Japan's Masahiro Kawamura (69) and New Zealand's Daniel Hillier (70).

World Invitational 2021 R4

Thailand's Pajaree Anannarukarn beat American Emma Talley in a playoff to win the women's event, her first on the LPGA Tour, after finishing at 16-under.

Anannarukarn produced seven birdies on Sunday, unfortunately accompanied by a triple bogey at the par-4 6th and a bogey at the 16th to close with a 70.

"I just wanted to keep doing what I've been doing and really try to stay focused on my game and obviously it turned out good. I'm really thankful for everything, everything that I've been through."

World Invitational 2021 R4

Talley's round also had its ups and downs with seven birdies and four bogeys to close with a 70.

Countrywoman Jennifer Kupcho was in the lead after the 15th having fired five birdies and a single bogey at the 6th but bogeys at the 16th and 18th caused her to miss out on the playoff and she finished third at 15-under.

ISPS HANDA ambassador Brendan Lawlor, who also won last week's EDGA Cazoo Open, won the ISPS HANDA World Disability Invitational by six shots. He carded a 67 to beat Italy’s Tomasso Perrino, last week's runner-up.

“It was an unbelievable day again,” said Lawlor, who has Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome, a disability characterised by a shorter stature and shorter limbs. “It’s been an unbelievable week, the last two weeks have been incredible.

“The scoring today and the scoring the last couple of days was amazing and it shows that these guys belong here and hopefully it’s going to be a regular occurrence from now on.

“I was a bit shaky, it wasn’t easy, I didn’t look at the leaderboard all day. I was just throwing in my scores and focussing on my own game. It was a bit of a nervous start and I made a few birdies in a row then. It was a blur of a round, I was so focused I don’t even remember which holes I birdied.

Lawlor was already qualified for the season-ending EDGA Dubai Finale thanks to his win last week, but Perrino, as well as Felix Norrman and Mike Browne will join him in Dubai in November.
