Luke List produced a run of seven birdies in eight holes around his turn, only missing one birdie putt from 12-feet at the 15th. He carded an 8-under 63 to reach 13-under and take a one shot lead in the John Deere Classic.

List, who has yet to win on the PGA Tour and ranks 117 in the World, has had a busy month away from the course with his son being born in early June and having to return him to the hospital for a respiratory virus then staying home the past two weeks to help care for his toddler daughter.

“It was tough, but it's been amazing to come back. Everyone has been asking and praying and thinking about us, so it's kind of cool. It's a big family out here, and it's nice to know that you've got everyone's support when it's not going great.”

List only missed one fairway on Friday and all his birdie putts were from 10 feet or close. He had two chances for eagles on the par-5s but missed putts from 25 and 10 feet.

“I was able to keep hitting the fairway, which out here is premium, and I was able to attack from the fairway. I think there's a lot of wedge opportunities out there, and if I can keep it in the fairway, then I'll have some scoring options.”

Sebastián Muñoz started the day with a share of the lead and made four birdies in his front nine before parring the rest of his round for a 4-under 67 to take solo second place.

A group of seven players are tied for third at 11-under including overnight co-leader Chesson Hadley (68) and former champion Ryan Moore who missed his chance at the lead when he bogeyed the 18th and had to settle for a 66. Lucas Glover and Chase Seiffert both signed for 63s to join the group.

Three-time champion Steve Stricker, who opted to take part in the 50th anniversary of the event instead of defending his U.S. Senior Open title, made the cut after shooting six birdies to card a 66. He lies seven shots back from the lead in T34.

“This tournament has meant a lot to me over the years. It's a special place for me,” said Stricker. “It's hurt the last few times I haven't been able to come here. I wish the two events were at different times. I could have played both of them. But this is the spot for me to be this week.”
