ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic R3

Mark Hubbard

Mark Hubbard fired seven birdies, four of them consecutively from the 14th to close with a flawless 64 and take the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic lead at 16-under.

He ranks No. 1 in both Stokes Gained: Tee To Green (8.574) and Strokes Gained: Approach The Green (8.815).

“I felt like I had some of the best ball control I’ve had all season, maybe my whole career today, but I felt like I was kind of leaving a few out there in the middle of the round,” said the American.

“I think Mark a couple of weeks ago would have gotten pretty frustrated and turned a 64 into a 68. I just stayed really patient and just tried and kept hitting good shot after good shot and eventually the putts started going in.

“I’ve been working really hard at it this year. It’s been a lot of highs and lows in that regard. Yeah, like I said, I’ve been working hard, and I just feel like it’s paying off.

“I can’t promise that it’s going to be great tomorrow, and I can’t promise that it’s going to be great the rest of the year, but I know I’m going to keep trying to work on it, because I do feel like that was one of the things that was holding me back this year in particular.

“I really do feel like my game has been a lot better than it’s shown. If I can just control that tomorrow, I’ll be in really good shape.

“I’ve been working really hard at it this year. It’s been a lot of highs and lows in that regard. Yeah, like I said, I’ve been working hard, and I just feel like it’s paying off.”

Hubbard holds the 54-hole lead/co-lead for the second time (2022 Sanderson Farms Championship/finished T5) and seeks his first win in his 274th PGA Tour start, the second-most starts among active players without a win on record (most: Patrick Rodgers/making 326th start at Truist Championship this week). His best finish so far on Tour was T2 at the 2019 Texas Children’s Houston Open but he had one victory on PGA Tour Canada (2013 Wildfire Invitational) and one on the Korn Ferry Tour (2019 LECOM Suncoast Classic).

His best finish in 11 starts this season was T23 at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.

36-hole leader Aaron Rai of England, the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 42 in the Official World Golf Ranking, fired six birdies and one bogey for a 66 and sits one stroke back in search of his second victory (2024 Wyndham Championship).

American Kevin Roy lies in solo third place at 14-under following a bogey-free 65 with compatriots Mac Meissner, Beau Hossler and Brandt Snedeker tied in fourth place at 13-under.

Meissner eagled the par-5 13th and made six birdies and one bogey for a 64 while Hossler made eight birdies, five in a row from the 3rd, and one bogey for his.

Snedeker eagled the par-5 15th and made five birdies and three bogeys for a 67.

With a 7-under 64 featuring an eagle at the par-5 15th and one bogey, American Brooks Koepka posted his low round of the season on Tour and lies in T7 at 11-under. Back-nine 29 equals his low nine-hole score on Tour (most recent: 2019 CJ CUP @ Nine Bridges/R4). He improved his proximity to the hole with each round this week (35’7”/R1, 33’2”/R2, 25’4”/R3).

The largest come from behind to win at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic was 3 strokes by Ryan Fox in 2025.
