PGA Championship 2025: Which LIV Golfers will feature at Quail Hollow?

A total of 15 LIV Golfers have secured their places at the 2025 PGA Championship

The 2025 PGA Championship takes place next week as the world’s best gather at Quail Hollow for the second major of the year.

Among them will be 15 LIV Golfers, who have either earned their way via winning majors or world rankings. A few have even secured special invitations from the PGA of America, notably Joaquin Niemann, Dustin Johnson, Tom McKibbin and David Puig.

At the Masters, a total of 12 golfers from the breakaway league took part, with seven making the cut.

Bryson Dechambeau was leading with just 16 holes to play, before falling back in a tie for fifth. Patrick Reed exceeded expectations, finishing third.

Overall, all seven finished in the top 40 at Augusta and it was certainly a promising display at the first major of the season.

28% of the 54 members on the LIV Golf roster will be represented at Quail Hollow, signifying that more and more players are getting the chance to play in the major championships.

As such, who are the 15 LIV Golfers that will travel to North Carolina next week?

15 LIV Golfers set to play in the PGA Championship

Richard Bland – Cleeks GC

Bland won both the U.S. Senior Open and Senior PGA Championship last year, which secured him qualification for just his second ever PGA Championship.

He missed the cut at the 2022 event at Southern Hills.

Dean Burmester – Stinger GC

Burmester finished in a tie for 12th at Valhalla in 2024, securing his spot in the field for the PGA this year.

That was his best finish at the event and something he will hope to improve on at Quail Hollow next week.

Bryson DeChambeau – Crushers GC

The American is exempt for the PGA Championship until 2029 due to claiming his second U.S. Open title at Pinehurst No.2 last year.

He came exceedingly close to winning at Valhalla in 2024, setting the clubhouse lead at 20-under par. Xander Schauffele birdied the last, however, to pip Dechambeau at the death.

Sergio Garcia – Fireballs GC

Garcia missed the previous two editions of the PGA. In February, he received an invitation from the PGA of America to compete in the tournament for the first time since 2022.

The Spaniard has finished runner up at the event in 1999 and 2008.

Tyrrell Hatton – Legion XIII

Hatton secured his spot at Quail Hollow by being in the top 100 of the world rankings.

The Englishman’s best results in the major have been a pair of top tens in 2016 and 2018. He finished T63 last year.

Dustin Johnson – 4Aces GC

The two-time major winner was another player who received a special invitation to the PGA.

Johnson’s exemption expired after Rory McIlroy won the Masters last month, but he will now tee it up in his 16th PGA Championship, an event where he has finished second twice.

Martin Kaymer – Cleeks GC

Kaymer won his first ever major title at the 2010 PGA Championship, defeating Bubba Watson in a playoff at Whistling Straits.

As such, he is secured a lifetime exemption to the tournament. The German has missed the cut at four of his previous five showings at the event since 2019.

Brooks Koepka – Smash GC

Koepka has won the tournament three times – 2018, 2019 and 2023 – which means he will be invited for life.

He comes into Quail Hollow in mixed form. While the American has finished in the top 30 across his four previous LIV Golf events, he missed the cut at the Masters.

Tom McKibbin – Legion XIII

The Northern Irishman received an invite to play in the 2025 PGA Championship alongside Johnson and David Puig recently.
McKibbin joined LIV Golf ahead of the 2025 season and this will be just his third major start.

Phil Mickelson – HyFlyers GC

In 2021, Mickelson became the oldest man to ever win a major championship. He tamed Kiawah Island to claim his second PGA Championship trophy.

The American secured his lifetime exemption back in 20005, winning the second of his six majors at Baltusrol.

Joaquin Niemann – Torque GC

Like Garcia, Niemann was given a special invitation to the PGA back in February. The Chilean has been the standout golfer in the 2025 LIV Golf season so far, claiming three wins from the first seven events.

His best result at the PGA came in 2022, where he secured a T23 finish at Oak Hill.

David Puig – Fireballs GC

Puig has played in just four majors, but he was given yet another special invitation to feature in the PGA Championship this year.

In 2024, the Spaniard missed the cut at Valhalla after receiving a similar invite. He will be hoping for a much better result this time around

Jon Rahm – Legion XIII

Rahm’s victory at the 2023 Masters means he is exempt through all majors until 2028. With two legs of the career grand slam completed, the Spaniard just needs the PGA and an Open title to join the greats.

A T4 finish is his best result in the competition, which came way back in 2018.

Patrick Reed – 4Aces GC

Reed secured his spot at Quail Hollow by being inside the top 100 golfers in the world. His Masters performance suggests the American still has plenty to offer at the highest level of the sport.

A runner up finish in 2017 is his best result at the PGA. Can he contend in North Carolina?

Cameron Smith – Ripper GC

Courtesy of his Open victory at St Andrews in 2022, Smith is eligible to play the next three PGA Championships.

This major hasn’t exactly been the kindest to him, however. Across nine events, he has just one top-ten finish.
