Scott Jamieson claimed his second DP World Tour title almost 14 years after his first, closing with a 67 to win the 2026 Nexo Championship by two shots.
The Scot finished at 11-under par at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire, holding off England’s Matthew Jordan and securing his DP World Tour card for another two years.
Jamieson also won the Closing Swing and its $200,000 bonus, taking his earnings for the week beyond $700,000. The result moved him from 135th to 42nd on the Race to Dubai Rankings.
“Fourteen years, that’s wild. It’s just so tough, so hard to win,” an emotional Jamieson said. “I was so patient all day… just can’t believe I’ve won.”
His victory made it two consecutive Scottish winners at the venue after Grant Forrest’s success in 2025. It also continued a run of home champions on the DP World Tour, one week after Jeff Winther won the Danish Golf Championship.
Jamieson Takes Control Around the Turn
Jamieson began the final round behind overnight leader Shaun Norris but moved into contention with birdies at the seventh and eighth. Jordan then made a double bogey at the ninth after failing to escape cleanly from rough beside a dune.
Norris also lost ground on the front nine when he received a two-stroke penalty for breaching Rule 8.1, which covers player actions that improve conditions affecting a stroke. Officials ruled that he had moved a divot from beneath his feet in the fifth fairway.
The penalty removed Norris from the lead before the turn, while Jamieson opened his back nine with consecutive birdies. That gave him four gains in five holes and established an outright advantage.
A bogey at the 13th, combined with Jordan’s birdie at the 12th, reduced the margin to one. Jamieson responded immediately by birdieing the 14th to regain a two-shot cushion.
The decisive exchange came at the 17th. Jamieson saved par after finding a bunker short of the green, while Jordan’s par putt stayed above ground on the left edge. Jamieson took a three-shot lead to the final tee and made a controlled par, with Jordan’s closing birdie securing second place.
“I was kind of patient all week,” Jamieson said. “I think when you get the weather like we had, it’s easy to be patient because level par is a good score.”
He credited recent work with coach Jamie Gough after arriving at the course early in the week and feeling comfortable with his swing.
Victory Ends Another Card Battle
Jamieson had spent recent seasons fighting to retain his playing rights. At the 2023 Qatar Masters, he made five birdies over the closing nine holes to climb from 119th to 82nd in the Race to Dubai Rankings and keep his card.
This victory settled the issue after he entered the week 135th in the standings.
“That grind’s worse than trying to win. Trying to win’s enjoyable,” he said. “So yeah, to win and get a couple of years of free go is nice.”
Andy Sullivan finished alone in third place at 7-under after a final-round 68. Quim Vidal, Marcus Kinhult and Keita Nakajima shared fourth on 6-under.
Norris signed for a 76 and finished at five under alongside Fabrizio Zanotti and Richard Mansell. Mansell shot a course-record 65 to collect a $10,000 bonus.
“Obviously winning in Scotland’s cool, really cool,” Jamieson said. “Shout out to Jeff Winther winning in Denmark last week. I’m good friends with Jeff, so a little bit of inspiration there.”
