January 21-24
PGA West Stadium Course &
Nicklaus Tournament Course, La Quinta, California
$6,700,000
Round 1, Round 2, Round 4

Max Homa made nine birdies and a double bogey for a 65 and a share of the lead at the Stadium Course alongside Si Woo Kim and Tony Finau at 15-under 201.

Homa, who has made seventeen birdies in the last two rounds, could win his second PGA title on Sunday.

"There's obviously a handful of very daunting holes, but I've been fortunate enough to play here a ton, so I have a pretty good feel for the place," said Homa. "I've been able to put myself in a position to have good looks for birdie, and I've been putting great. It's just something about these greens. It feels like home."

Kim and Finau both shot 67 but Kim was bogey-free for the day while Finau recovered from a double bogey on the 13th with three back-to-back birdies.

Sungjae Kim started his round with a one shot lead but had to settle for a 73 after making a double bogey at the par-4 9th and bogeys at the 5th, 13th and 14th offset by only five birdies. He lies in T20 at 10-under with four other players including first round leader Brandon Hagy who shot a 72.

Richy Werenski shot a 65 to move to fourth, one shot behind the leaders. Having gone bogey-free in the first two rounds he missed a 10-foot par putt at the 13th for bogey but compensated with six birdies and an eagle at the par-5 5th.

"I've been giving myself plenty of looks and just haven't been converting them, and today I finally made some [putts]," said Werenski. "So I think we're kind of turning the corner. I've always liked this place. I've never finished really, really high here, but I've always known that I could play really good. It just fits my eye."

The low round of the day came from Russell Knox, whose 64 is one shot off the course record and joins Brian Harman and Emiliano Grillo in fifth place at 13-under.
