October 15-18
Shadow Creek Golf Course, Las Vegas, Nevada
$9,750,000
Round 1, Round 2, Round 3

Jason Kokrak started his round in a four-way tie for second place, three shots behind overnight leader Russell Henley. He matched the best round of the tournament with an 8-under 64 on Sunday to win his first PGA Tour title in his 233rd tournament.

โ€œI have played quite a few rounds here at Shadow Creek so I know the greens pretty well, I know the little intricacies of this place. Not like some of the local caddies, but it is definitely a place that I feel comfortable at,โ€ said Kokrak, who is an ambassador for MGM Resorts, which owns Shadow Creek.

Kokrak birdied five of the first eights holes including four straight birdies and started the back nine with two more to take a two shot lead.

Xander Schauffele, also tied for second at the start of his round, birdied three of the opening five holes and joined Kokrak in the lead on the back nine.

Kokrak fired a 342 yard drive into the fairway on the 18th leaving him only a short iron to 25 feet, then two-putted for victory when Schauffele failed to match him.

โ€œHe pushed me along just as I was probably pushing him along, making a couple birdies here and there," said Kokrak. "I think our better ball game would have been pretty decent today,โ€

โ€œIt was very nice to come up 18 and have a oneโ€‘shot lead. Xander's a great player, he's eighth in the world or something like that and a proven TOUR winner. To solidify my first win here against a great player like that makes it a little more special.โ€

Kokrak and Schauffele were left to play alone when the third in their threesome, Jason Day, had to withdraw with a neck injury on the second hole. Day played the first three rounds with a stiff back and felt a twinge in his neck during his warmup. As he walked from the range to the putting green something clicked and his neck locked up. With no time for treatment he headed to the first tee but couldn't play properly and withdrew.

โ€œMy back had been a little jammed up and hurting most of the week so I think maybe I did something to my neck while trying to compensate for that. Hopefully it won't be too bad and I'll be back next week. I've been swinging it really well just needed a few more putts. It just sucks to have it happen any time but especially when you have a chance to win.โ€
