Guido Migliozzi has won his fourth DP World Tour title after a three-way playoff at the KLM Open.
The Italian closed with a birdie at the 18th for a 70 to reach 11-under and join the playoff against England’s Joe Dean and Sweden’s Marcus Kinhult who both shot 68s.
All three birdied the first extra hole at the 18th before Kinhult and Dean parred it while Migliozzi birdied again for the title and a place at next month’s Open Championship.
“I never thought I was done,” said Migliozzi. I’ve always been in position and tried to make birdies and come back and here it is now. It’s an incredible feeling, it’s been an incredible battle, well done to everybody.
“It’s super, super nice to be here now.”
Denmark’s Rasmus Højgaard double bogeyed the par-3 7th and closed with a 70 for a share of fourth place at 10-under alongside Italy’s Andrea Pavan who carded a bogey-free 65.
Finland’s Mikko Korhonen who had led since Thursday made four birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 14th for a 75 to slip down into a share of tenth place at 7-under.
