Sepp Straka fired six birdies and four bogeys at Pebble Beach to close with a 70 and take a one-shot lead at 16-under at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
“[I] battled some flu symptoms out there most of the week. Honestly, the pro-am format might have helped me the first two days, it was kind of a slow round so I could kind of take my time and save some energy. Yeah, definitely feeling a little bit fatigued, but honestly with these conditions, even if I was 100 percent, I would be feeling a little bit fatigued. Just looking forward to tomorrow,” said Straka.
The Austrian holds the 54-hole lead/co-lead for the second time following the 2025 American Express which he won. He leads field in birdies (22), Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (9.981; career-best thru 54 holes), Strokes Gained: Approach the Green (5.580) and Sand Saves (6/6).
Straka finished No. 27 in the 2024 FedExCup standings, his sixth consecutive season qualifying for the FedExCup playoffs and third straight year advancing to the Tour Championship.
Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy and Ireland’s Shane Lowry both signed for 65s to move into second place at 15-under. McIlroy stayed bogey-free while Lowry made two bogeys and an eagle at the par-5 2nd hole. McIlroy leads the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (3.830) and Driving Distance (337.8).
England’s Justin Rose fired an eagle at the 2nd as well as five birdies and three bogeys to close with a 68 and a share of fourth place at 14-under alongside Korean Tom Kim who also shot a 68 as well as Australian Cam Davis who recorded a 69.
World No. 1 and 13-time PGA Tour winner Scottie Scheffler trails by six shots in T10 in bid for his eighth win in his last 15 starts.
