Ben Griffin made a single bogey and closed with a 2-under 70 on Saturday at the Procore Championship but retains a one-shot lead at 16-under.
“I didn’t convert as many putts [as in the first two rounds]. But hitting it really solid, gave myself a lot of birdie looks out there. Missed a short one on the first,” said Griffin.
“All in all, I felt like I hit some really good putts today, just a lot of them didn’t drop but some days are like that. You can’t make everything every day. Especially out here, poa annua greens, it gets a little dicey in the afternoons. You’re just trying to hit your lines and hope, honestly.
“But hitting it solid, just got to continue to play long. Someone asked me if I was frustrated after today. Definitely not. Having a one-shot lead on the PGA Tour going into Sunday and my game feels great, so I can’t complain at all.”
After playing the par-5 holes in 5-under through three rounds, Griffin is 316-under on par-5 holes since the start of the 2024 PGA Tour season, the most of any player during that period (next best: Scottie Scheffler, 272-under).
The American holds his fourth 54-hole lead/co-lead in individual stroke-play events on Tour and is 1-for-3 to date in converting to victory (2022 Butterfield Bermuda Championship/T3, 2023 Sanderson Farms Championship/T2, 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans/Won). He also held the 54-hole lead in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans en route to winning with teammate Andrew Novak.
Griffin has had ten top-10 finishes in 28 starts this season so far, tied with Russell Henley for second most (most:16/Scottie Scheffler).
He seeks a third PGA Tour title in his 105th start at the age of 29. Both his previous wins came in 2025 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (with Novak) and the Charles Schwab Challenge.
American amateur Jackson Koivun fired an eagle at the par-5 12th as well as four birdies and back to back bogeys from the 3rd to retain solo second place at 15-under. He entered the week with consecutive top-10 finishes (T6/2025 ISCO Championship, T5/2025 Wyndham Championship) and has shot 68 or better in his last ten rounds on Tour.
Koivun is the Number 1 ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and seeks a first PGA Tour victory in his ninth start. With a win on Sunday he would become the fourth amateur to win on Tour since 1983 and first since Nick Dunlap (2024 American Express).
The Auburn University junior earned PGA Tour membership via PGA Tour University Accelerated at the conclusion of stroke play at the 2025 NCAA Championship, finishing T4 in stroke play to earn the final point needed to reach the 20-point threshold in the program.

The best finish by an amateur this season was Kieron van Wyk’s T4 at the Puerto Rico Open. The best finish by an amateur at the Procore Championship was Luke Clanton’s T50 in 2024.
World Number 1 Scottie Scheffler started the day eight shots behind the lead and shot an 8-under 64 marred by a double bogey at the par-4 15th to move up into third place at 14-under. He leads the field in birdies (20), Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (10.362) and Proximity (24’4”).
The American seeks a sixth victory this season in his 150th start. He leads all players with five wins this season (The CJ Cup Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, the Memorial Tournament, the Open Championship, BMW Championship.
He has finished inside the top 25 in all nineteen starts this season, with a season-high sixteen top-10 finishes (including fourteen straight).
He is currently T46 on the all-time wins list with 18, tied with Julius Boros, Jim Ferrier, Dutch Harrison and Nick Price.
South African Garrick Higgo made two bogeys and carded a 66 to take solo fourth place at 13-under heading into the final round. He leads the field in Driving Distance (309.3).
Higgo seeks his third PGA Tour victory and second this season (2021 Palmetto Championship, 2025 Corales Puntacana Championship).
FedExCup Fall
The 2025 Procore Championship is the first event of the FedExCup Fall, a group of seven tournaments played after the Tour Championship that finalizes eligibility for the 2026 PGA Tour Season.
At the conclusion of the final FedExCup Fall event (The RSM Classic), players inside the top 100 of the FedExCup Fall Points List will secure exempt status for 2026, while players finishing between Nos. 101-150 will have conditional status.
Nos. 1-50 in the FedExCup standings through the Tour Championship are locked in their positions while Nos. 51 and beyond carry their FedExCup points into the Fall. Nos. 51-60 through the FedExCup Fall will qualify for two Signature Events in 2026 (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational).
Winners of events during the FedExCup Fall receive the similar benefits of winners of Full-Field Events during the Regular Season, including 500 FedExCup points, Official World Golf Ranking points, a two-year PGA Tour exemption (exempt thru 2027) and invitations to The Sentry, The Players Championship and PGA Championship.
