Faldo Virtual Series Season 2 Pushes Golf into the Digital Age

The Faldo Virtual Series returns with expanded access, new events, and a global platform that makes junior golf more inclusive than ever.

The Faldo Virtual Series (FVS) is back for Season 2, bigger, broader, and determined to make competitive junior golf more accessible than ever. This year’s programme opens the doors to players across six continents, with events taking place on Trackman simulators and Trackman-powered driving range bays around the world.

Running from December 2025 through February 2026, the new season offers three formats, each designed to suit different environments and experience levels. The flagship stroke-play tournament returns, joined by two new additions: the Faldo Nearest the Pin Challenge, exclusive to outdoor Trackman ranges, and the Faldo Parent & Child Foursomes, a family-friendly alternate-shot event that brings a more social flavour to the platform.

For just $10 per month, juniors aged 7 to 21 get three attempts to post their best score. Whether they’re playing from a high-street simulator, a local range, or a private setup, anyone with access to Trackman can get involved.

“We’re opening the door for young golfers everywhere to compete on a global stage,” said Sir Nick Faldo, the six-time major champion who founded the Charitable Trust, The Faldo Series, in 1996. “The growth of this platform is bringing competitive golf to places that have never had access before. These are opportunities that simply did not exist a generation ago.”

With over 75,000 Trackman-enabled bays worldwide, the FVS has genuine global scale. A junior in rural Wyoming can tee it up against someone in suburban London or downtown Singapore, playing the same course under the same conditions, a level playing field in the truest sense.

Season 1 proved the concept works. Three players, Eloise Feely and Esme Counsell from Great Britain and Ireland, plus Sweden’s Carl Hugo Eriksson, won spots in the British Masters Pro-Am, playing alongside Ryder Cup star Matthew Fitzpatrick. With the Pro-Am selected by a lucky draw, every entrant had a fair shot, no matter their score.

The main FVS event remains an 18-hole stroke-play competition (nine holes for players aged 7–12), hosted on championship venues including Royal Birkdale, Yellowstone Club, and Adare Manor. Juniors compete across four age categories: 7–12, 13–15, 16–18, and Under-21, with separate leaderboards for boys and girls.

Monthly category winners earn places at a Faldo Series Grand Final held in the UK, Europe, Asia, or the Middle East, with travel support of up to $1,000. Across three months, 24 Grand Final spots are up for grabs.

The Faldo Nearest the Pin Challenge offers something completely different: four holes, one swing per hole, and an aggregate distance leaderboard that rewards precision over power. Miss the green, and you’ll pick up a penalty, a simple but clever twist. It’s built for outdoor Trackman ranges that want to join in even without full simulator setups.

Then there’s the Faldo Parent & Child Foursomes. Free to enter, it’s designed to tackle the idea that simulator golf can feel solitary. The alternate-shot format invites families to team up, giving them three chances per tournament to post a score together.

Trackman’s involvement goes well beyond hosting. Its Virtual Golf engine has developed rapidly, now offering ball-flight and course-condition modelling that mirrors what juniors would face out on real championship layouts, from bouncy greens to awkward crosswinds.

“This partnership gives juniors of all backgrounds a chance to compete globally, whether from an indoor facility in your hometown, a range, or a private simulator,” said Bernd Larsen Linde, Head of Marketing at Trackman. “The Faldo Virtual Series aligns perfectly with our vision of connecting players through meaningful, technology-driven competition.”

For venues, the series is a simple way to boost footfall during quieter winter months while giving young golfers hands-on experience with world-class tech many wouldn’t otherwise encounter.

The Faldo Series is encouraging clubs, academies, ranges, and sim studios to run their own activation events. Whether that’s a weekly Virtual Series Night, a rolling monthly leaderboard, or integrating competition into junior coaching, there’s no additional cost beyond normal facility hire.

“Host venues are helping shape the next generation of golfers,” Sir Nick said. “These facilities are becoming part of a worldwide community, all united through the game.”

Support from national governing bodies, including England Golf, will help drive awareness and participation across the season.

While Grand Final places headline the rewards, plenty more is on offer. Runners-up collect 12-month Upgame subscriptions, fourth and fifth place finishers pick up EA Sports vouchers, and social media competitions will give away custom putters. Venues running strong activation events can win Sir Nick-signed flags and personalised media content.

The popular lucky draw returns too, meaning more chances at Pro-Am spots, plus tickets to PGA and DP World Tour events, depending on where the winners are based. It reinforces one of the series’ core principles: showing up matters just as much as posting a low number.

The Faldo Virtual Series isn’t here to replace traditional junior golf. It’s simply widening the pathway, offering competition to those without easy access to clubs, those juggling busy family schedules, or those just dipping their toes into competitive golf without the burden of travel and entry fees.

For some juniors, it’ll be their first taste of tournament play. For others, it’s winter practice with purpose. And for a select few, it will be the start of something much bigger.
