Joaquín Niemann led from start to finish in Sunday’s LIV Golf New York win, holding off Harold Varner III by three shots at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.
The Torque GC captain closed with a 2-under 69 to finish at 16-under, earning his second victory of 2026 and a record ninth individual LIV Golf title. Crushers GC erased an eight-shot deficit to claim their record-extending 11th regular-season title.
Jon Rahm also clinched a third straight season-long Individual Championship with one regular-season event remaining, despite a closing 76 and a tie for 41st.
Niemann responds to Varner’s challenge
Niemann entered the final round atop the leaderboard after rounds of 64, 65 and 70, but Varner drew level through 11 holes. Varner’s bogey at the 12th gave Niemann an opening, and the Chilean answered with a 58-foot birdie putt at the 13th.
An eagle at the par-5 15th then gave Niemann control of the tournament. His closing 69 completed a 16-under total, while Varner shot 70 to finish alone in second at 13-under.
“I just love the pressure, love being in those moments, having a long week out here playing golf and leading the tournament since the beginning is pretty special,” Niemann said in the LIV Golf final-round recap.
Scott Vincent charged into a tie for third with a final-round 66, joining Lee Westwood at 9-under. Byeong Hun An finished fifth at 7-under. Paul Casey, Thomas Pieters and Tom McKibbin shared sixth place at 6 under.
Crushers overturn eight-shot deficit
Crushers GC entered Sunday eight shots behind Torque but recorded a collective 1-under final round. Torque struggled to a 9-over team score, and Bryson DeChambeau’s side won at 6 over.
Casey led the Crushers with a 3-under 68, while Anirban Lahiri birdied his final hole to put the Crushers two shots clear. Charles Howell III and DeChambeau completed the scoring group as the Crushers finished two shots ahead of both Torque and Legion XIII.
The winning score was the highest in LIV Golf team competition, surpassing Ripper GC’s 4-over total at Miami in 2025.
Rahm clinches third season title
Rahm’s difficult final round did not stop him from securing the 2026 Individual Championship. The Legion XIII captain had built an unassailable points lead through victories in Hong Kong and Mexico City, supported by four runner-up finishes.
“It’s been a great year,” Rahm said. “A little sour taste in my mouth because of how badly I played this week. But it’s been something to be proud of.”
Rahm has now won the season title in 2024, 2025 and 2026. The remaining individual positions will be decided at LIV Golf Indianapolis, the final regular-season event.
