- Ten sports stars and content creators took part in a charity hole-in-one challenge at Trump’s Twelve.
- A hole-in-one on the 11th offered £100,000 for the player’s chosen charity.
- The ten-player field competed for £1.47 million in potential charity prizes.
Glasgow Warriors players George Horne and Ollie Smith swapped the rugby pitch for the Ayrshire links as part of a ten-player charity challenge celebrating the launch of Trump’s Twelve, Trump Turnberry said.
Staged with Official Hole In One, the challenge offered £1.47 million in potential charity prizes across the field. Strong coastal winds added another complication to the task of holing a tee shot, with Smith and content creator and broadcaster Liv Cooke providing two of the closest calls.

A £100,000 target on the 11th
Seven holes carried a £1,000 prize for The Golf Foundation, while four offered £10,000 for a charity of the player’s choice. The biggest opportunity came at the 11th, where an ace would secure £100,000 for their chosen cause. Official Hole In One filmed every tee shot and green.
Smith came close on the 157-yard fifth. With the strong wind behind him, his tee shot pitched short and tracked towards the flag before rolling just past the pin.
Cooke came close on the 107-yard eighth. Her ball landed beyond the hole, caught the slope and rolled back towards the cup, stopping within two feet.
Alistair Kyle, Golf Academy Manager at Trump Turnberry, said: “The chance to win money for charity gave everyone something extra to play for. This is exactly what we want Trump’s Twelve to be about: getting people together, enjoying their golf and having a go, whatever their ability.”
Peter ‘Tubes’ Dale, of Tubes & Ange Golf Life, added: “Trying to make a hole-in-one is hard enough without a strong wind joining in. When Ollie’s ball started heading towards the flag, we all thought it might drop, and Liv’s shot came close right to the last roll. Great fun, plenty of laughs over a fantastic short course and some very good causes to aim for and the hospitality at Trump Turnberry is world-class .”
A shorter round at Turnberry
Trump’s Twelve joined Turnberry’s golf offering on August 10, opening on land formerly occupied by the Arran Course. The 12-hole par-3 course sits alongside the resort’s Ailsa and King Robert the Bruce championship layouts, with holes ranging from 70 to 206 yards.
Multiple teeing grounds provide different distances and angles for beginners, families and experienced golfers. Greens with rolling contours, diverse surrounds, natural waste ground and water features give players more to consider than the yardage alone.
The course also forms part of the Trump Turnberry Golf Academy, alongside its TrackMan Range, Trackman iO simulators, short-game facilities and PGA coaching.
Trump’s Twelve will feature in the Turnberry Titans charity golf day on October 22. A £500 fourball package includes a three-course lunch and the chance to play for a £10,000 hole-in-one prize.
