Dane Jeff Winther carded another 62, this time bogey-free, to retake the lead of the Mallorca Golf Open. He holds the lead heading into the final round for the first time on the European Tour. He is the first player to post three rounds of 62 or lower this season.

Winther opened the tournament with a 62 but his game suffered due to the windy conditions on day two leading to a 71.

More clement weather on Saturday led to a seven-way tie for the lead at one point but Winther closed with three consecutive birdies to move to 15-under.

"I was a little more controlled from the tee to the green so that was lovely compared to yesterday where I was literally left, left and more left.

"I just thought forget yesterday and swing like you normally do. It's been alright, I've actually been a little bit on the right side today so tomorrow hopefully it will be straight and in the middle."

Spain seems to bring out the best in his game and he has now carded a 62, his lowest Tour score, at the Gran Canaria Lopesan Open in April and twice this week in Mallorca. In addition, five of his eight lowest rounds on Tour have come in Spain.

Spain's Jorge Campillo lies two shots back after carding a 64 followed by fellow Spaniard Alvaro Quiros (65) in a tie for third place at 12-under with Swede Sebastian Soderberg (64).

Pep Angles, also Spanish, lies in solo fifth place at 11-under after signing for a 64.

Overnight leader Bryce Easton of South Africa slipped down into a share of sixth place after carding two birdies and two bogeys for a 70. He is joined at 10-under by Spain's Sebastian Garica Rodriguez (67) and Germany's Matti Schmid (66).
