Canadian Brooke Henderson shot another 64 at the Amundi Evian Championship, becoming the first player in LPGA Tour history to begin any major with two rounds of 64 or lower. She holds a three-shot lead at 14-under 128, just one stroke off the tournament’s 36-hole scoring record.

“It feels really nice to get off to a fast start in a major championship. Feels like it's been a while. To get it this far under par is really awesome,” said Henderson. “I feel like I'm hitting the ball really well, which is nice. Making some putts.”

Henderson has already won one major title at the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

American Nelly Korda eagled the par-5 18th to close her round with a 67 and solo second place at 11-under.

“I'm pretty happy with the way I'm playing. I hope to capitalize more on the par-5s going into the weekend. I think that's where I've kind of struggled a little,” said Korda. “I've given myself really good opportunities around the greens; just haven't kind of chipped it up close. I'm hoping that is something I improve on going into the weekend.”

South Korea's Sei Young Kim (65) and So Yeon Ryu (66) are tied in third at 9-under. Kim tied for the second-lowest round of the day after Henderson with her seventh career major round of 65 of lower, the most of any player since 2015.

Kim has five top-20 finishes in her six previous Evian starts.

“Pretty just nothing going on front nine, but I keep patient and I just keep doing it,” said Kim. “I already prepare for this tournament, so I just trust my process. So I just did it.”

Six players are tied for fifth at 8-under, including French player Perrine Delacour (68).

Overnight leader Ayaka Furue of Japan carded a 72 and is tied in 11th at 7-under.

Due to forecasted storms overnight and in the early morning, play will start off the first and 10th tees in groups of three on Saturday.
