“If I keep hitting fairways, making a few putts and give myself a chance to win, obviously I want to get that feeling of being in contention again. It’s been a good year since — last year had a great year, and this year I’ve had not such a great year, and I want to get those juices going again. That’s why I added these events,” said Hoffman.
“I’m on a run; I’ve never missed a [FedExCup] playoff. But I also know if I’m not healthy, I can’t compete out here, and I haven’t been healthy so I haven’t been able to compete. It’s the first year I’ve ever been injured. If you look at that, 17 years out here and this is the first year I’ve really gone through any injury, I think I’ve had a pretty danged good run, and hopefully I have a good run for the next few weeks and I can get in those Playoffs.”

Barracuda Championship 2022 R1
This week’s event, sanctionned by the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, is played using a modified Stableford scoring system. Players receive eight points for albatross, five for eagle and two for birdie. A point is deducted for bogey and three taken away for double bogey or worse.
“Last week, I really hit it pretty poorly, but I just managed my game well,” said Hubbard. “So I got here this week, I was tired, I was planning on not really doing anything Tuesday, but I just couldn’t stay at home so I came and I had a good range session and I figured some stuff out, so actually I felt like I hit it pretty good today and made some progress from last week.”
Brice Garnett and Sean Crocker are tied in third with 12 points alongside the only non-American in the top-5, Canadian Aaron Cockerill.
