Paradym hybrid takes inspiration from the best of fairway wood design

Callaway’s new hybrids boast deeper head and Cutwave Sole innovation

At first glance the new Callaway Paradym Hybrid looks like a very snazzy seven wood that Tom Kite or Fuzzy Zoeller might have used.

The woodification of the 2023 hybrid is no accident but the change, compared to the Rogue ST Hybrid, is undeniably dramatic.

The Paradym is considerably deeper (front to back) than its immediate predecessor and Callaway has unashamedly taken from its fairways and incorporated much of that thinking into the Standard Hybrid and X Hybrid, both of which incorporate an eye-catching waved sole panel.

Add it all up and the emphasis here is clearly on maximising distance for club golfers. As length is added to drivers and fairway woods in particular, the gapping issue of a big drop-off to the next longest club in the bag is considerable.

The Paradym Hybrid hopes to solve this problem and even out the spread. Most high handicap players struggle to hit long irons much further than their six and seven irons so these hybrids will go a long way to solving that issue.

Common in the new Paradym fairway woods and hybrids is the revolutionary Tungsten Speed Cartridge, which is designed to push the centre of gravity (CG) low and forward. The result is lower spin with more ball speed.

In the hybrid you also get AI designed Jailbreak with Batwing Technology to increase stiffness in the perimeter, while allowing the face to flex for high ball speeds across the face.

A high-strength 455 Face Cup is also designed using Callaway’s ground-breaking AI system and this has been created to optimise ball speeds and improve spin robustness across the face. Each model features a unique A pattern to enhance performance in that specific head.

Also new is the Cutwave Sole, which should cut through the turf much easier than any hybrid you have tried before. Callaway also believes golfers will notice a big difference when playing from from thick rough, while an increased camber on the leading edge improves turf interaction.

Finally you have the option to optimise trajectory and control with an adjustable hosel sleeve capable of +2*/ -1* of loft.

The clubs are available in these shafts:
