Denmark's Rasmus Højgaard shot a bogey-free round to head into Sunday with a three shot lead at 14-under in the Cazoo Classic.

Having started his day six shots behind the lead he fired ten birdies for a 62, matching the lowest round of his career on the European Tour.

"I drove the ball way better today than I did in the first couple of days. So I was putting myself in position and I could be aggressive from the fairway, holed putts from everywhere basically and then I had a spell on the back nine where I was really stressed.

"We were on the clock so I probably rushed a couple of shots but then I finished strongly so I’m very happy.

"I think if you drive the ball well here you can shoot a good score so that’s the main focus tomorrow. If you get it on the fairway you just take it from there but it’s pretty straightforward when you’re in the fairway, so I think that will be the key, to drive it well."

Englishman Jordan Smith and Scot Calum Hill both shot 70s to tie for second place at 11-under. While Hill made two birdies and stayed bogey-free, Smith fired five birdies on the front nine to make the turn in 31 then made four bogeys, his first of the week, and a single birdie on the back nine to return in 39.

“Definitely a game of two halves," said Smith. "You just look at the colours on the scorecard. It couldn't have been more different, couldn't have done anything wrong on the front nine and couldn't do much right on the back nine. But I hung in there, we're still in it.

“I had a lot of fun out there actually which was nice so I'm just going to continue that attitude into tomorrow."

Englishmen Dale Whitnell (72) and Richard Bland (70) are tied in fourth place at 10-under.
