Julien Guerrier took a two-shot lead in the Cazoo Open on Friday after following up his opening 67 with a 68 to reach 7-under.

"It was a really good day for me," said the Frenchman. "My driving and my iron game were not very good, I was really far from the pins but I only made one three-putt - my putting was really good and that was the key today.

"I played some bad shots but I made some good shots, otherwise I would not have shot three under."

"I try to avoid watching the leaderboard, I try to focus on my concentration and it’s a very demanding course.

"Anything can happen at every hole and so I just try to play safe and in the good areas on a difficult golf course.

"My learning from Hillside is to stay patient, stay focused and concentrate on your own game, that’s all."

Englishman Callum Shinkwin and American Johannes Veerman both also shot 68 to share second place at 5-under.

Englishmen Marcus Armitage (70) and Jack Senior (67) are tied in fourth place at 4-under alongside Belgium's Thomas Detry (66) and Norway's Espen Kofstad (68).

Overnight co-leader Dale Whitnell of England carded a second-round 72 and slipped down into a share of eighth place at 3-under alongside Finland's Mikko Korhonen and Scotland's Ewen Ferguson who both shot 71.
