Joaquin Niemann (CHL) is on course to beat the tournament record score of 20-under 264 that Lenny Wadkins set in 1985.

"It feels different," said Niemann. "You don't lead tournaments too often out here, there's too many good players, but yeah, I think when it's your week you've got to try to do your best and try to stay there, stay in the present and do your best."

Niemann holds the new 18-, 36- and now 54-hole records after signing for a 68 on Saturday to reach 19-under 194.

"I'm having the best time of my life right now. I just try to keep it
calm, but yeah, I'm enjoying it a lot and I just can't wait to have a good day tomorrow."

Rookie Cameron Young (USA) lies three shots behind in second place after carding a 69 followed by Viktor Hovland (NOR, 65) in third at 13-under and Justin Thomas (USA, 70) in fourth at 12-under.
