How did all 16 LIV Golfers perform at the PGA Championship?

Scottie Scheffler won the PGA Championship for his third major title and it was a solid week for some of the LIV Golf contingent

Scottie Scheffler underlined his status as the number one golfer in the world with victory at the 2025 PGA Championship.

There were some testing times for the now three-time major winner during the front nine. LIV Golfers Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm challenged him and at one stage, the Spaniard was tied for the lead.

Scheffler proved why he is the best in the world, rattling off birdies at ten, 14 and 15 which allowed him to seal his third major title.

In total, eight LIV players missed the cut at Quail Hollow, but how did the other half get on at the second major of the year?

Dustin Johnson – Missed Cut

Rounds of 78 and 76 ensured Johnson missed the cut at Quail Hollow.

Phil Mickelson – Missed Cut

Mickelson’s opening round of 79 did the damage as it left him eight over par. A second round of 72 didn’t matter as he failed to make the weekend.

Brooks Koepka – Missed Cut

Koepka’s poor form in the majors continues. The American couldn’t get going on Thursday or Friday. His missed cut at Quail Hollow was his first at the PGA Championship in 13 appearances.

Martin Kaymer – Missed Cut

The 2010 PGA champion has recorded just one top-ten in this competition since he won 15 years ago and missed the cut easily.

Cameron Smith – Missed Cut

After rounds of 78 and 71, Smith missed the cut at a major for the third time in a row.

Dean Burmester – Missed Cut

Two rounds of 74 saw the South African miss his first cut at a major since the 2022 PGA Championship.

Patrick Reed – Missed Cut

Hopes were high for Reed following his Masters showing, but he missed the cut by two shots in North Carolina.

John Catlin – Missed Cut

Catlin shot rounds of 74 and 71, but it meant he missed the cut by a single stroke.

Sergio Garcia – T67

The Spaniard was playing in his first PGA Championship since 2022. He made the cut by a stroke, but a third round 79 saw him fall down the leaderboard.

David Puig – T60

Puig received a special invitation from the PGA of America to play at the tournament, making the cut with a stroke to spare.

A third round 68 looked like it could be the catalyst for a solid Sunday, but he finished off with a 79.

Tyrrell Hatton – T60

The Englishman started the week off well with an opening round of 68. It all went downhill from there, however.

Rounds of 73, 72 and 77 saw him finish in a tie for 60th alongside Puig.

Tom McKibbin – T50

McKibbin was another LIV player to benefit from a special invitation and he enjoyed a decent week at Quail Hollow.

A third round 74 was his highest of the tournament and it is something to build on heading into the summer.

Richard Bland – T37

Bland was playing in just his second PGA Championship and exceeded expectations by sitting at 3-under at the halfway mark.

He faded over the weekend, but it was an excellent week for the Englishman.

Joaquin Niemann – T8

The most consistent golfer throughout the 2025 LIV Golf League season, Niemann finally secured his first top ten at a major.

He finished at 4-under par for the weekend and will use this is a confidence booster heading into the U.S. Open.

Jon Rahm – T8

Rahm looked like he was going to derail Scottie Scheffler’s march towards the title after picking up birdies on holes eight, ten and 11.

The Green Mile brought him crashing back to earth, however, as he finished the last three holes in five-over par, slipping back to a tie for eighth.

Bryson DeChambeau – T2

DeChambeau finished runner-up at the PGA Championship for the second year in a row.

A final round of 70 was enough to see him finish as best of the rest behind the imperious Scheffler. He now heads into the defence of his U.S. Open title full of confidence.
