Johan Edfors Storms to European Legends Cup Title at Fontanals

• Johan Edfors closed with an 8-under 64 to win the European Legends Cup.
• The Swede finished on 15-under after beginning the final round four strokes behind Bradley Dredge.
• Stephen Gallacher moved top of the Road to Cambodia Order of Merit with a T5 finish.

Johan Edfors produced eight birdies in a final-round 64 to win the European Legends Cup by SR Nexus at Fontanals Golf, completing a four-shot comeback for his second Staysure Legends Tour title of 2026.

The Swede started Sunday on 7-under and finished at 15-under, three strokes clear after passing Steve Webster and Robert Coles in La Cerdanya.

Edfors had opened with a level-par 72 before improving with rounds of 65 and 64. His victory follows his maiden Legends Tour success at the OFX Irish Legends earlier this season.

“I’m feeling great, obviously,” Edfors said. “I did really well today and made plenty of good putts on the back nine. I didn’t really know how I was standing.”

Four birdies turn the final round

Overnight leader Bradley Dredge began one ahead of Webster, but Webster immediately erased that advantage with a birdie at the 1st. Both players gained another shot at the par-5 2nd as Coles joined the contest.

Dredge recorded his first bogey of the week at the 10th, allowing the chasing group to close in. Coles then holed a 20-foot birdie putt at the 13th to reach 14-under and take the outright lead.

Edfors then moved into contention. A birdie at the 13th moved him to 12-under before Coles found the water at the 14th. The Swede completed a run of four consecutive birdies with an eight-foot putt at the 15th, moving clear of the field.

Webster’s bogey at the 16th extended Edfors’ advantage to three. Edfors drove close to the water on that hole but found the left side of the green with a wedge and secured par. He also parred the 17th before a controlled wedge into the closing hole left two putts for victory.

“I saw the leaderboard when I was on 16 and realised if I made three pars coming in, I should have a pretty good chance of winning,” he said. “I managed to do that, so that was nice.”

Gallacher takes Order of Merit lead

Stephen Gallacher tied for fifth on 10-under, moving to the top of the Road to Cambodia standings.

Edfors climbed to second place, narrowly ahead of Mikael Lundberg.

The Staysure Legends Tour next travels to China for the Reignwood Legends Championship at Reignwood Pine Valley from October 2–4.
