Bradley Dredge Takes One-Shot Lead Into European Legends Cup Final Round

• Bradley Dredge leads the European Legends Cup by one stroke at 11-under-par.

Bradley Dredge will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the European Legends Cup by SR Nexus after completing another bogey-free round at Fontanals Golf.

The two-time DP World Tour winner followed his opening 65 with a 4-under 68, reaching 11-under after a birdie at the 18th moved him clear of Steve Webster.

Webster produced the lowest score of the second round, surging from eight strokes behind with a 64. Overnight leader Andrew Marshall returned a 71 and shares third place on 9-under with Simon Griffiths and Robert Coles.

Dredge protects his bogey-free record

Dredge began the day one shot behind Marshall and initially struck the ball well, but problems with his driver forced him to adjust his strategy. His short game protected the card before a precise approach at the last pitched inches from the hole and set up the outright lead.

“Obviously delighted. A one-shot lead – I’d love for it to be three or four, but one will do,” Dredge said.

“I just had to struggle a bit and manage my game, leave the driver in the bag a little bit and try to get it in play and manage with what I had. Luckily my short game was good and kept me in it.”

Dredge is seeking his second Staysure Legends Tour victory after winning the Legends Tour Trophy in 2023.

Webster climbs with second-round 64

Webster briefly joined Dredge at 10-under during a round containing an unusual birdie. At the 10th, he used his putter from a greenside bunker and holed from about 20 feet.

“It was a little bit lucky – I meant to get it close, but it just went in,” Webster said.

He then hit his second shot at the par-five 13th from 250 yards to three feet, converting the eagle putt to move to 10-under. The 2025 Grass & Co English Legends champion enters Sunday seeking another senior title, although he said his immediate focus would remain on producing good shots.

Three players share third place

Marshall could not reproduce the putting display behind his opening 64, but a 1-under 71 kept him two strokes off the lead. He is pursuing the second victory of his Legends Tour career.

Griffiths carded a 68, completing his round with a 25-foot birdie putt. The Englishman already has a title this season, having won at Costa Navarino. Coles joined him and Marshall after moving through the field with a 6-under 66.

Stephen Gallacher, Johan Edfors and Hennie Otto share sixth place on 7-under. Edfors rebounded from an opening 72 with a 65, highlighted by a tee shot to inches at the par-3 17th.

Dredge begins the final round with seven challengers within four strokes, led by Webster in the group behind him.
