Min Woo Lee signed for a final-round 3-under 67 to reach 20-under and win at the Texas Children’s Houston Open.
“It was a very mental grinding day but I’m super proud to win. It was just a very tough week. I mean, I had a lot of eyes on me obviously. I had a four-shot lead going down — the last round and yeah, I mean, I was obviously very tired, which helped go to sleep but I woke up and I couldn’t go back to sleep. It was one of those where I think just everything aligned this week. I’m so proud to be the winner of the trophy.”
This first PGA Tour title came in the Australian’s 56th career start at the age of 26. He converted his first career 54-hole lead/co-lead on Tour into a one-stroke victory and set a new career-low 72-hole score (260) and 54-hole score (193).
Lee also recorded a new low 72-hole score at the Texas Children’s Houston Open (previously: 264/Tony Finau/2022).
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler signed for a bogey-free 63 for a share of second place at 19-under, recording his 10th runner-up finish on Tour and third at the event (T2/2021, T2/2024, T2/2025). He has now finished in the top-10 three times in six starts this season (T3/The Genesis Invitational, T9/AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am).
Fellow American Gary Woodland eagled the par-3 16th and made a single bogey for a 62 and a share of second place.
Finland’s Sami Välimäki closed with a bogey-free 62 featuring an eagle at the par-5 3rd to finish fourth at 17-under.
Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland made an eagle at the par-5 8th and two bogeys for a 64 and a share of fifth place at 15-under.
Three players in the field that qualified for the Masters Tournament via the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking: No. 28 J.J. Spaun, No. 42 Stephan Jaeger, No. 50 Michael Kim.
The winner of next week’s Valero Texas Open will also qualify for the Masters if not yet exempt.
