Matt Jones knows how to play in the wind, and it showed on Saturday. He fired two bogeys and three birdies to close in 1-under 69 for a 10-under total at The Honda Classic, three shots clear of overnight leader Aaron Wise and J.B. Holmes.

"I'm happy to go low with the ball flight and I'm probably a little more conservative when the wind is up," said Jones. "I'll probably play a little safer than normal. I'm naturally a very aggressive player. But I think in the wind, I have a tendency to manage the golf course differently."

Wise started his round with a three-shot lead and started well with birdies at the 2nd and 4th taking his lead to six shots but a double bogey at the par-4 6th started his collapse and he closed with a 5-over 75 following five more bogeys.

"I was playing from out of position a lot, so it added up to a big number," said Wise. "But luckily with how I played those first two days I'm still in it and still have a chance."

“Anything can happen coming down the stretch here in general, and especially with the holes playing all back into the wind it makes it that much tougher. If you're in the mix you're going to have a chance coming down the stretch, because anything can happen.”

Holmes shot a 67 for the second day running.

"There really wasn't anything I really struggled with today," said Holmes. "I hit everything pretty solid. So, it was just a really good day for me."

C.T. Pan shot the low round of the day with a bogey-free 65 to tie alongside Cameron Tringale (69) and Sam Ryder (72) in fourth place at 6-under.
