American Russell Henley is position to win his first PGA title in four years at Sedgefield Country Club. He takes a three shot lead into the final round of the Wyndham Championship.

He couldn't maintain the momentum that saw him tie the lowest 36-hole score on Tour this year. He started the day with a four shot lead but had to settle for a 69 to reach 15-under after firing a single birdie, two bogeys and an eagle at the par-5 15th.

“I've never had a four-shot lead, so just kind of dealing with all the thoughts that are not wanted in my head and just trying to focus on what I want to do. The first two days everything was obviously going my way and I was playing really well and scoring well, so that's not going to happen every time.

“These rounds are kind of what make and break really good tournaments, so I'm really thankful to be under par today.”

Fellow American Tyler McCumber shot a bogey-free 66 to position himself in second place.

McCumber, whose father Mark is a 10-time winner on Tour, is still searching for his maiden win. He had missed his past six cuts prior to this week.

"You've got to stay in the process and I feel like I've been doing that pretty well and getting rewarded for it through the first three rounds this week, so taking that momentum into tomorrow."

Six players are tied for third at 11-under including Olympic silver medallist Rory Sabbatini who started the week outside the FedEx Cup standings top-125 but is now projected to move to 122.

Tied alongside him, Roger Sloan and Scott Piercy are also projected to make the 125-man field for next week's The Northern Trust

Justin Rose started the week 138th in the standings and is currently tied for 9th after a third round 69 placing him at a projected 126th in the standings.
