2020 Olympics - Women's R4
August 04-07
Kasumigaseki CC, Saitama, Japan
Round 1, Round 2, Round 3

American Nelly Korda is not only a recent major winner and World number 1 but can now add Olympic champion to her resumé.

She started the day with a three shot lead but was caught and had to rebuild it on the back nine.

She kept her composure through a one-hour storm delay at the end of her round and two-putted from inside 30 feet to sign for a 69 at Kasumigaseki Country Club, winning by one shot at 17-under.

“This is just kind of like almost legend status as a golfer, period, male or female,” said sister Jessica who finished T15 at 9-under. “It's tough to win out here and she makes it look easy, but those girls are good. So for her to be doing, it's insane to me. This is like total GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) status to me.”

Korda's win gives the USA its second golfing gold in Tokyo following Xander Schauffele's win in last week's men's competition.

2020 Olympics - Women's R4

Japan's Mone Inami and Lydia Ko of New Zealand both shot 65s to finish tied at 16-under leading to a playoff for the silver and bronze medals.

Inami parred the first extra hole to win silver for the home nation while Ko found a bunker then missed a 10-footer and bogeyed to add the bronze medal to the silver she won in 2016.

India's Aditi Ashok was in contention all day but missed a birdie putt at the final hole to close with a 68 and finished fourth at 15-under.
