Sanderson Farms Championship R4

Steven Fisk

Steven Fisk made nine birides and one bogey and closed with an 8-under 64 on Sunday at the Sanderson Farms Championship to reach 24-under and win his first PGA Tour championship by two shots at the age of 24. He led the field in Strokes Gained: Tee To Green (11.912).

His 264 total is one stroke shy of the 72-hole tournament record (263/Dan Halldorson/1986). 24-under ties the lowest winning score in relation to par at this event (Scott Stallings/2012).

At 24-under 264, Fisk set the new Sanderson Farms Championship scoring record since the event moved to the Country Club of Jackson (previous: 265/Kevin Yu/2024).

The American is the fourth PGA Tour rookie to win this season, joining Karl Villips (Puerto Rico Open), Aldrich Potgieter (Rocket Classic) and William Mouw (ISCO Championship).

“It’s job security. We all think we’re good enough to compete out here and to win, and to come out here today and play like I did, and finally I truly know that I’m good enough to be a PGA Tour winner is really cool.

“These fall events were a really cool opportunity for me to come out and try to get a win. Obviously with the position I was in on the FedExCup points list I had a lot of ground to make up.”

“At the end of the day, if you come out here and win a golf tournament, everything takes care of itself. So that’s been my focus for the last month or two.”

Fisk was a member of the winning 2019 US Walker Cup team at Royal Liverpool Golf Club and finished No. 4 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour Points List to earn PGA Tour status for 2025.

Garrick Higgo of South Africa, the 36- and 54-hole leader, made three bogeys in his final round to record a 67 and finished second at 22-under.

Dane Rasmus Højgaard who was part of the European winning team at last week’s Ryder Cup made one bogey and carded a 65 for a share of third place at 19-under, his best result in a standard stroke-play event in 41 starts on Tour. His lone top-10 finish in 18 prior starts this season came with twin brother/playing partner, Nicolai, at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (2nd).

American Vince Whaley made two bogey and closed with a 67 for a share of third place.

PGA Tour rookie Danny Walker made two bogeys for a 69 and his share of third place, his best finish so far. Requiring 107 feet, 8 inches of putts in the final round to surpass Kevin Na’s Tour record (558’ 11”/2019 Shriners Children’s Open), the American made 64’ 6” of putts to fall short of the record. 515’ 10” total surpasses Adam Long’s 500’ 3” total made in 2022 as the most at the Country Club of Jackson.

After making the 36-hole cut on the number, Monday qualifier Doc Redman of the United States fired an eagle at the par-4 8th, four birdies and one bogey for a 65 to finish T9 at 16-under and earn a spot in the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship with his top-10 finish.

Taiwan’s Kevin Yu (T11/-15) posted four rounds under par while attempting to become the first back-to-back winner at the Sanderson
Farms Championship, including his final-round 68 featuring an eagle at the par-5 11th and one bogey.

FedExCup Fall Notes

The 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship is the second event of the FedExCup Fall, a group of seven tournaments played after the Tour Championship that finalizes eligibility for the 2026 PGA TOUR Season.

At the conclusion of the final FedExCup Fall event (The RSM Classic), players inside the top 100 of the FedExCup Fall Points List will secure exempt status for 2026, while players finishing between Nos. 101-150 will have conditional status.

Nos. 1-50 in the FedExCup standings through the Tour Championship are locked in their positions while Nos. 51 and beyond carry their FedExCup points into the Fall. Nos. 51-60 through the FedExCup Fall will qualify for two Signature Events in 2026 (AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational).

Zero players moved in or fell out of Nos. 51-60.
