Pin Vision and Golfmanager Integration Puts Live Pin Positions in the Club App

Pin positions recorded in Pin Vision will now flow automatically into the Golfmanager app, alongside GPS distances, green maps and pace-of-play tracking.

  • Pin Vision GPS and course data are being integrated into the Golfmanager platform and app.
  • Daily pin positions recorded in Pin Vision will sync automatically to Golfmanager.
  • Pin Vision says it is live at 80 clubs across Europe, with more than 50,000 golfer downloads.

Golfers at clubs running Golfmanager will be able to check distances, hole and green maps and the day’s pin positions in the club app they already use, after the club management platform agreed an integration with GPS specialist Pin Vision.

Once a course is connected to Pin Vision, its hole coordinates, green geometry and pin locations can be synchronised with Golfmanager and shown to players, with the maps and data credited to Pin Vision inside the app. Pace-of-play tracking is also part of the package.

Flags entered once

The administrative gain for clubs is that daily pin positions update automatically between the two systems. Until now, a club using both would have had to maintain the same information by hand in more than one place.

The flag still has to be logged at source. As with Pin Vision’s other partnerships, greenkeeping staff record each new hole location when they move a flag, and the yardage to the pin is only as good as that entry. The companies argue that more accurate pin information can help pace of play and, in turn, free up tee times on busy days.

“Golf clubs do not need more isolated technology; they need technology that connects seamlessly and makes their operation simpler,” said Daniel Sillari, CEO of Golfmanager. “By bringing accurate course and pin-position data directly into Golfmanager, we can remove another manual task for club teams while giving golfers a much more complete digital experience.”

Luigi Goria, Pin Vision’s founder and COO, said the integration would take the company’s experience, including its live pace-of-play tracking, to every club running on Golfmanager.

Pin Vision and Golfmanager join forces

Third tie-up since July

Pin Vision, founded in Italy, has spent the summer and autumn putting its data inside other companies’ apps rather than relying solely on its own. In July it joined HowDidiDo and intelligentgolf to combine GPS distances with digital scoring for UK club members, and in September it entered the US market through CourseRev.ai, whose booking platform and AI assistant are set to display Pin Vision maps and live pin locations.

The pace-of-play element Golfmanager clubs will receive launched in July, giving managers a way to spot bottlenecks and message groups on the course, while golfers can see how their round compares with the club’s pace target.

Goria now puts the company at 80 live clubs across Europe and more than 50,000 golfer downloads; when the CourseRev.ai deal was announced, it cited more than 100 clubs in Italy and the UK and more than 40,000 active golfers.
