Two years ago Titleist launched the T100 with a considerable fanfare. These were elite-level irons designed for – and designed by – many of the top pros in the world.
The likes of Jordan Spieth, Cameron Smith and Jessica Korda all had their say, testing and re-testing what Titleist could come up with.
Improving on that takes some doing but Titleist believes it has managed to achieve that while throwing in some interesting aesthetic changes. The finish on the new T100 is described as having a black Titanium Carbide Vapor finish. And striking they most certainly are.
Smith and others have already switched to the 2023 version which Titleist is confident will keep it top of the irons tree. On 17 of the last 18 PGA Tour seasons, its irons have been the most played and the Open champion is certainly smitten.
“I love the finish,” said Smith, who has recorded multiple victories with his T100 Black models in the bag including The Players and The Open Championship at St Andrews.
“The new black finish is a little bit more durable – they’ve definitely stood the test of time. I just like how they look. I think they look a little bit smaller. This lets me narrow in a little bit more and obviously the less glare and stuff like that off the sun, helps that a lot.”

They certainly look the part and the dense D18 tungsten weights allow for a good deal of control over Centre of Gravity (CG) placement. Add in the stylish and iconic fully forged construction and you have a pretty good combination with sufficient forgiveness and feel for the demanding elite-level golfer.
T100•S Technology version retains the key features of T100, but with 2-degree stronger lofts and a new Muscle Channel, which Titleist have produced so the players have the option of an even faster tour iron. The weight savings from the creation of the muscle channel have been used to create an even lower CG placement, which is great news for all of us. Everyone hits irons at the bottom of the face from the fairway.
The T200’s multi-material, hollow body construction provides controlled distance and launch, while improved Max Impact technology and forged L-Face inserts work together to retain speed on off-centre strikes. This is the choice of club for those who need a bit more help and mid-range handicappers will really enjoy the consistency of delivery.
