Sebastian Söderberg carded the lowest round of the day in windy conditions at Heritage La Réserve Golf Club. He fired nine birdies, including four in a row from the 12th, as well as a double bogey at the par-3 7th to close with a 65 and takes a one-shot lead at 19-under into the weekend at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

"It was just one of those days where it just felt kind of easy," said the Swede. "It was windy but I was hitting my driver really well, I took care of the par fives and the two driveable par fours.

"My short game was really good those times I missed the green and the putting was solid so it was a good day."

"I didn't think I would be where I am at this point yesterday. It's an exciting course, there's a lot of holes where you can make eagles or doubles and triples, it's a nice variation.

"I'm treating this week as a chill week, a little vacation on the side so I'm just going to try and do the same. It may be harder when you're in contention but the plan is going to stay the same - I'll maybe have a couple of beers on the beach."

Söderberg has won once on the DP World Tour, at the 2019 Omega European Masters. He had his best season on Tour since in 2023 with six top-10 results and finished 25th on the Race to Dubai Rankings.

Germany's Marcel Schneider shot a 68 to move into a share of second place at 9-under alongside South African Jacques P de Villiers who shot a 67 featuring an eagle at the par-5 8th.

France's Antoine Rozner who held the overnight lead made only two birdies as well as two bogeys and a double bogey at the par-4 13th for a 74 and slipped down into a share of fourth place at 8-under alongside Englishmen Paul Waring and Daniel Brown.

Waring's five birdies were offset by a bogey and two double bogeys att he par-3s 4th and 14th for a 73 while Brown made six birdies and a double bogey t the par-4 10th for a 68.
