Chad Campbell and Mark Wilson share the Sanford International lead at 3-under after high winds and lightning prevented any player from completing the opening round.
Campbell reached 3-under through 16 holes, while Wilson posted the same score across his first nine. Bernhard Langer sits alone in third at 2-under through 11 holes as he pursues a record-extending 48th PGA Tour Champions title.
Play was initially suspended at 11:50 a.m. CT because of high winds. The delay lasted five hours and 13 minutes, with the field returning at 5:03 p.m., but lightning in the area forced officials to stop play for the day at 7:06 p.m.
The first round will resume at 7:30 a.m. CT on Saturday. The second round will not begin before 10:30 a.m. and will use a two-tee start, with players re-paired according to their scores.
Campbell Chases First Champions Victory
Campbell, 52, has two holes remaining as he seeks his first PGA Tour Champions victory in his 53rd start. His best results on the circuit are two ties for eighth, recorded at the 2024 Principal Charity Classic and the 2025 Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS.
The four-time PGA Tour winner is making his 17th start of the 2026 season. He has three top-25 finishes this year, led by a tie for 14th at The Ally Challenge.
Campbell finished tied for 35th on his Sanford International debut in 2024 before improving to a tie for 28th last year. His most recent PGA Tour victory came at the 2007 Viking Classic.
Wilson, 51, is also looking for his first PGA Tour Champions title. His best finish in 28 previous starts was a tie for ninth at the 2025 PURE Insurance Championship.
This is Wilson’s eighth appearance of the 2026 season, with a tie for 14th at the Hoag Classic his only top-25 finish. He placed tied for 43rd on his Sanford International debut in 2025. Wilson won five times on the PGA Tour, most recently at The American Express in 2012.

Langer Moves Into Contention
Langer remains one shot off the lead through 11 holes. The World Golf Hall of Fame member is making his 391st PGA Tour Champions start and has not won since the 2024 Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
Defending champion Retief Goosen is tied for fourth at 1-under through 11 holes. He shares that position with Ken Tanigawa and Ricardo Gonzalez.
J.J. Henry made the opening round’s only hole-in-one before play was halted. He aced the par-3 17th with a 6-iron from 174 yards, leaving him tied for 18th.
