Children's Open 2021 R4
October 07-10
TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada
$7,000,000
Round 1, Round 2, Round 3

Estimated reading time: 8 minutes

South Korean Sungjae Im produced nine birdies over the first thirteen holes, closing with a 62 to reach 24-under and win the Shriners Children's Open by four shots. This was his second win on the PGA Tour following the 2020 Honda Classic.

Children's Open 2021 R4

"Very meaningful win. I know I won my first win on my 50th start, and to win my second PGA TOUR win on my 100th start, that in itself is a pretty amazing stat. It was hard coming, but I think today how everything went I think it was a gift from above. I played so well and I'm glad I got the win.

"I saw the scoreboard for the first time on the 14th hole and when I saw that I was leading by five I said to myself that, Let's not make a mistake and I can get this done."

Children's Open 2021 R4

Im started the day three shots behind overnight leader Adam Schenk at 15-under and holed a 12-foot birdie putt at the 6th to take a share of the lead. He made two more birdies at the 7th and 9th to make the turn in 30 before starting the back nine with four consecutive birdies and parring the rest.

Im's was the best closing round by a winner in this event since Smylie Kaufman's 61 in 2016.

Children's Open 2021 R4

American Matthew Wolff came second after a final round 68 to reach 20-under and reaching number twelve in his streak of rounds in the 60s at TPC Summerlin.

"I was just really happy with how the week turned out," said Wolff. "Sungjae played unbelievable the last day. And this game is, like, when I'm in the lead or contention someone just seems to go off the last day on me."

Children's Open 2021 R4

"But if I keep on putting myself in these positions I know that eventually it's going to be in my favor and I'm going to win. But really like the way my game's trending, especially from the beginning -- or the end of last year. If you would have told me I would be in this position right now I would be really happy.

"So I'm just in a really good spot and happy with where my game is at and my head's at."

Australia's Marc Leishman signed for a 63 for a share of third place alongside Olympic silver medalist Rory Sabbatini of Slovakia (64) and Schenk (70).
