US Open 2026 – Round 3 Setup Information

126th US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club

The U.S. Open flags on the village blow on the 17th hole during a practice round ahead of the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.

For day 3 of the US Open putting green speeds ranged from the high 10s to low 11s on the stimpmeter and will settle to the upper 10s to 11 feet as the day goes on. Greens were single-cut.

Water Management – Water was applied as needed to maintain turf health and playability.

Hole 2 – We are using the forward tee today to the back left hole location
Hole 7 – The “left” tee will again be used today. This should be a more favorable angle for players to combat today’s right-to-left wind.
